Competition for the use of the Douglas Vapor Batch Plate (and
the Crystal Clear Strips)
Douglas Instruments is running a competition – open to
all – for the best research project using the new Douglas Vapor Batch Plate
(and also the Crystal Clear Strips.
We will announce the first winner or winners in December 2004.)
prize will be awarded for the best scientific project using Douglas
Instruments' crystallization plates.
project must use either the Douglas
Vapor Batch Plate or the company's Crystal Clear Strips. (The
Vapor Batch Plate is preferred.)
expect most projects to involve macromolecular crystallization, but this is
not necessary. Other applications are very interesting to us. If
the project does involve crystallization it can use any method of crystallization.
competition aims to encourage practical advances that are helpful to other
users, original ideas, and discoveries that increase the understanding of
may be excluded if the judges feel that there is insufficient data or too
few case studies to demonstrate the usefulness of the ideas. Studies
including many proteins and many conditions will, in general, be well received.
